BPHC 4's played Warrington 2's at home in the 4.30pm slot. The 4's were seeking their first win of the season. Brooklands had first push back and started strong in the attack, obtaining their first goal within the first two minutes of the match, ably scored by Ava Mottram.
Brooklands dominated the first half and were unlucky to be disallowed a second goal from a short corner.
Going into the second half Brooklands were 1-0 up and had pace and youth on their side, nimbly outrunning the opposition at every opportunity, especially with our new right midfielder, Rachael Cutting, who was playing her first ladies seniors game.
Brooklands were unfortunate that Warrington were able to score in the second half, bringing the score level. However, the girls never stopped the attack and Bethany Moore was awarded for her determination by scoring the second goal of the match.
Warrington were unable to bring themselves back into the game despite a last minute attempt to mount a counter-attack which was expertly dispensed with by Brooklands defence.
Brooklands were therefore rewarded with their first win of the season following all round great performances by the girls. Warrington’s captain even emailed after the match to compliment the young players on their confidence and said it was a credit to them and the club’s junior development program.
